Toxicology:
Acute toxicity: LD50:180~336 (rat) mg/kg ; human oral 30 mg/kg, lethal dose. Percutaneous absorption of dimethoate slow, rats 24 h coated percutaneous LD50 was 700 ~ 1150 mg/kg.
Subacute and chronic toxicity: human oral 2.5 mg/d (equivalent to 0.04 mg/kg), after 4 weeks of ChE inhibition and symptoms of poisoning.
Application:
Systemic insecticide and acaricide with contact and stomach action. Control of a wide range of Acari, Aphididae, Aleyrodidae, Coccidae, Coleoptera, Collembola, Diptera, Lepidoptera, Pseudococcidae and Thysanoptera in cereals, citrus, coffee, cotton, fruit, grapes, olives, pastures, beetroot, potatoes, pulses, tea, tobacco, ornamentals, ornamental shrubs, and vegetables. Also used for control of flies in animal houses.
